KIYG Day 2: Manipur bag three more gold in Thang-Ta, silver in cycling

Manipur enjoyed a fruitful day by racking up four medals including three gold on Day 2 of the 4th Khelo India Youth Games underway in Haryana.
The state made the most of the Thang-Ta competition on Sunday as Yumnam Pinky, Khundongbam Priyangka Chanu and Mutum Thoisana all shone in their respective final matches to hand Manipur three gold medals.
Yumnam Pinky secured 48 points in her final bout against Assam's T Alina (22 pts) to win the girls' Phunaba Ama -52kg category.
On the other hand, Khundongbam Priyangka Chanu clinched the gold medal in the girls' Phunaba Ama -56kg category while Mutum Thoisana claimed the top podium honour in the Phunaba Anishuba -56kg category.
With the Sunday's results, Manipur have won five gold medals in Thang-Ta.
Earlier on Saturday, Moirangthem Arbin Meitei and Laipubam Bishal Sharma kick-started Manipur's campaign in Thang-Ta by bagging a gold medal apiece.
Meanwhile, the state cyclist team claimed the silver medal in the sprint team event to take Manipur's medal tally to six.
After the second day, Manipur slipped to third place in medal count behind Maharashtra (first) and Haryana (second) .
