BDCKA felicitates nine rowers

Bishnupur, March 05 2019: Bishnupur District Canoeing and Kayaking Association (BDCKA) has extended warm welcome to its nine players, who won gold and bronze medals for the State in the recently conducted 29th National Canoeing and Kayaking Championship 2019 held at Bhopal and Delhi and 3rd Indoor National Rowing Championship 2019, conducted at Pondicherry, during a simple function held at Boat House, Moirang today.

The event was graced by BJP Manipur Pradesh vice president cum BDCKA president, M Ashnikumar Singh, BDCKA vice president, K Jugin Singh; advisor, retd Principal, T Manglem Singh and K Mohendro Singh as the presidium members.

As part of the event, the volunteers of BDCKA felicitated the players and the Coach who brought home the medal by rewarding a simple gifts as a token of encouragement.

The players who won the medals are : 29th National Canoeing and Kayaking Championship 2019-Pukhrambam Roji Devi (Gold medals in Sub Junior K1 Girls 200 m and 500 m, bronze medals in Junior K1 Girls 1000 m and 5000 m ; P Gyaneshwor Singh (Bronze medals in Sub Junior Boys C4 200 metre, Junior C1 Boys 5000 metre ; Leichombam Neha Devi (Bronze medal in Sub Junior C1 Girls 200 metre ; Phairembam Borish Singh (Bronze medal Sub Junior C4 Boys 200 metre); Hemam Rojit Singh (Bronze medal in Sub Junior C4 Boys 200 metre); H Bimola Devi and O Yaiphabi Devi (Bronze medals in Sub Junior C4 Girls 200 metre.

3rd National Rowing Championship- H Roshni Devi and N Merina Devi (1000m Doubles) .

Speaking at the event, M Ashnikumar lauded the players for their contribution in game and sports and bringing home the medals.

He also said that he on behalf of the Government would look into the needs and requirement of the association (BDCKA) including construction of office to produce more competitive players.
