Manipur emerge women's team runners up at 42nd National Masters Athletic C'ship

Imphal, May 02 2022: Manipur women's team finished runners up in the 42nd National Masters Athletic Championship held in Chennai from April 27 .

In all, the Manipur team bagged 33 gold, 24 silver and 11 bronze medals.

In the fourth and fifth day of the National championship, NP Singh won the 35+ 1500 m race with a time of 4 minutes 25.9 seconds as Th Ibemhal Devi bagged 1500 m race for 70+ women's gold with a time of 11 minutes 21.5 seconds.

Ch Thambalsang Devi on the other hand won the 1500 m race for 65+ women with a time of 9 minutes and 0.5 seconds.

Thongam Ashalata on the other hand clinched the triple jump gold for 40+ women as she record 6.33 m jump.

In the 300 m race for 55+ women, Th Memcha sealed the gold medal taking 1 minute 11.25 seconds before NP grabbed another gold medal by finishing first in the 10,000 m race with a time of 35 minutes 21.6 seconds.

Manipur also grabbed gold medals in the 4x400 m relay events for women above 75+, 4x100 m event for women above 75+, 4x100 m event for women above 70+, 4x400 m event for 55+ women.
