HU, SYUC script comprehensive wins in State Sub-Jr Hockey

Imphal, March 02 2021: Hockey Union, Lairikyengbam Leikai and SYUC, Uchekon Khunou posted convincing wins in today's men's league stage matches of the 8th State Level Sub-Junior Men and Women Hockey Championship being organised by Manipur Hockey at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium.

In the first Pool B league match of the day, SEYO, Singjamei went down 1-2 to MLHU, Mayai Lambi.

SEYO pulled the lead through Nitinkanta K in the 25th minute but MLHU bounced back stronger and earned a comeback 2-1 win with goals coming from Th Johnson in the 35th minute and S Chalamba in the 43rd minute of the match.

Later in the second Pool B match, Hockey Union brushed aside Bishnupur Hockey 10-1.Kh Mykolin opened up the scoring for HU before N Rohit scored the equaliser for BH in the 3rd minute.

HU however took complete control of the game later on and fired 10 more goals through Y Bidyananda (7', 19'), Swami Dayal (10', 54', 56'), A Suresh (22'), M Nganba (31', 51'), A Sachin (51') and Kh Somikant (52').Meanwhile in the first Pool A league match of the day, SYUC romped past YCCIC, Kontha 16-2 thanks to goals by L dipu (4', 7', 31'), K Millan (9', 20', 28', 41'), Sh Borish (10', 17'), L Biran (11', 41'), Th Richand (15', 56'), Sh Thoi (46'), L Ribando (53') and Sh Rikesh (54') .

The consolation goals for YCCIC were scored by W Manikanta (34') and Rishy Y (59') .

Later in the second Pool A league match, KHSC, Khongman romped to a 4-0 win against MEIRAA, Bashikhong as L Sushilkumar converted two penalty corners (13', 23') to make it 2-0 till the second quarter.
