Wins for TCMDC, AL-AMEEN, ESU, YPHUC in MNCA U-16 Boys' Trophy

TCMDC, AL-AMEEN, ESU and YPHUC notched up contrasting wins in Saturday's matches of the 5th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Singh Memorial Trophy 2024-25.TCMDC delivered an all-round performance, decisively defeating CYSA by 10 wickets at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
Opting to bowl, TCMDC reduced CYSA to 152 runs in 22.5 overs.
Despite a solid 62 from Wangmem Aijak and a 42 from Wangmem Atomba, CYSA struggled with three run-outs and a lack of support from the rest of the lineup.
Vishonath Laishram spearheaded the TCMDC attack with three wickets, while Nongshaba Sapam, Surchand Sapam, and Dipachandra Sagolshem each took one.
TCMDC chased down the target in 22 overs without loss, led by Waikhom Mathoi Meitei's unbeaten 80 off 78 balls and a supporting 37 not out from Sanasam Himan Singh, sealing a comprehensive 10-wicket win.
At Lairenjam Public Ground, Imphal, AL-AMEEN registered an emphatic 86-run victory over KASC.
Batting first, AL-AMEEN posted non in 30 overs, driven by Imtiyas Khan's 54 and Maibam Ashique's 42.KASC's bowling was led by Mohammad Sakif Hussain with three wickets, while Sohail Khan, Md Ruhal, and Mdalfash took one apiece.
In their defence, AL-AMEEN's disciplined bowling attack restricted KASC to 84/8, with Thoubal Mayum Aarish, Shohel Akter, and Maibam Ashique each picking up two wickets, while Md Duwa Aziz added one.
In another match, ESU edged past AKSDO by three wickets at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-III Cherapur, Thoubal.
AKSDO managed 118/7 after opting to bat, anchored by Chingamba Elangbam's 47 .
ESU's bowlers, led by Thokchom Simesh and Hanjabam Donba Sharma with two wickets each, kept AKSDO's scoring in check, while Soibam Sayonba Singh and Hanjabam Naoba Sharma contributed one wicket each.
ESU reached the target in 25.5 overs, driven by contributions from Hanjabam Donba Sharma (37), Soibam Venus Singh (20 not out), and Thokchom Simesh (7 not out) .
Saikhom Dinesh led AKSDO's efforts with three wickets.
Meanwhile, YPHUC clinched a narrow one-wicket win over YUCC at Khudeiband Lampak, Taothong (Lamshang).
YUCC set a target of 172/9 in 35 overs after choosing to bat, with Ningthoujam Kenedy Singh top-scoring at 61 and notable contributions from N Reshan (24) and Loitongbam Joychand (23) .
YPHUC's bowling was led by Purujit Mutum, Birbal Irom, and Irom Ishor, who each claimed two wickets, with Konsam Mangal Singh and Irom Sunny Singh adding one apiece.
YPHUC chased down the target in 34.2 overs, with Irom Ishor anchoring the innings at 66 not out.
Despite losing three wickets to Loitongbam Joychand, two to Ningthoujam Kenedy Singh, and one to K Malangba, YPHUC's resilience saw them secure victory with a wicket in hand.
