Imphal, January 31 2016: The 17th State Level Wushu Championships, organised by the Senapati District Wushu Association under the aegis of Wushu Association of Manipur concluded yesterday.

Central Wushu Institute emerged the overall team champion by winning 19 gold, 7 silver and 6 bronze medals.

In sanshou event, SAI RC clinched the first place with 12 gold, 8 silver and 5 bronze medals while Bishnupur bagged the second position with 7 gold, 9 silver and 12 bronze medals.

In the taolu category, Central Wushu Institute stood first with 18 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze medal while the second place went to SAI RC which bagged 5 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze medals.

In the said championships, 238 players and 40 officials coaches and managers from host District Association Senapati, Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Bishnupur, SAI RC, Manipur Police, Central Police, Central Wushu Institute-Imphal and Wushu Academy Yairipok participated, said a press release issued by Wushu Association of Manipur.
