UBFC move into semis with 6-2 aggregate win over MCK

Imphal, December 29 2021: UBFC, Ukhrul outlasted MCK, Bishnupur by 6-2 (aggregate) goals to book semifinal berth in the ongoing 25th Thangjam Birachandra-Maipakpi Memorial Winners Cup 2021-22 organised by the All Manipur Football Association.

P Sorormi Thingshang scored a brace in the second half in the 3-1 win for UBFC against MCK here at Artificial turf, Lamlong Thongkhong in the quarter final second leg tie.

UBFC who were 3-1 winners away at Bishnupur, conceded an early 5 minute goal with S Obedhia finding the target for MCK.

The Ukhrul team however pulled level during the added time of the first half (45+2') and picked up the game from where they had left after the restart.

Off a fine chance, P Sorormi scored his opener in the 48th minute to overturn the lead before adding another the very next minute and made it 3-1 .

The team then sat back and thwarted all MCK moves to complete the 6-2 aggregate finish.

They will either face GSYC or PAMYAL in the semi-finals.

GSYC will host PAMYAL in the quarter final first leg on January 3 at MAYWO playground Lonpi as per a fixture released by the organising committee.
