33rd Sub-Jr & Jr National Aquatic Championship Hiren, Yaiphabi open gold account for Manipur

Imphal, June 29 2016:
Hiren Sagolsem and Yaiphabi Thoudam clinched a gold medal each on the opening day of the 33rd Sub-Junior and Junior National Aquatic Champion-ship, organised by the Swimming Federation of India, today at Bangalore.
In the boy's Group-3 200 m freestyle, Hiren Sagolsem finished on 2.09.51 sec to clinch the first position while the second and third place title went to Karnataka (2.11.70 sec) and Gujarat (2.15.35 sec) respectively.

In the girl's Group-4 50 m backstroke, Yaiphabi Thoudam of Manipur took 39.20 sec to secure the first position while Maharashtra (39.34 sec) and West Bengal (39.56 sec) settled for bronze and silver medal respectively.
It may be mentioned that, Hiren Sagolsem hails from Rupmahal Tank, Imphal and is the son of Ajit Sagolsem and Sagolsem Thadoi.
He is currently studying Class 8 at Hundred Flower School.
Meanwhile, Yaiphabi Thoudam is the daughter of Thoudam Sobhachandra Singh and Th (O) Ranjita of Wangkhei Thangjam Leikai.
She is currently studying Class 6 at Unacco School.
