S Langam clinches foil gold at 15th Governor's Cup Fencing C'ship

Imphal, July 28 2019: S Langam of UPAA laid his hands on gold medal in the Junior boys' foil event at the ongoing 15th Governor's Cup State Level Fencing Championship 2019 being held at Fencing Hall Khuman Lampak today.

S Langam made the most against M Punsiba of SLLC in the final today to win the title.

L Sanjoy of SAIRC and Th Benish of SLLC who made it upto the semi-finals had to settled with the bronze medals.

Earlier in the senior men's epee final, A Lenin of KHFA got the better of Th Bonmai of SLLC to win the gold.

S Jayenta of Imphal East and Th Phemton of KHFA were able to grab the bronze medals of this event.

Meanwhile, in the junior boys' epee final, Th Satish snatched another gold medal for KHFA beating K Kane of SAIRC in the final.

Semifinalists, AY Arvinkumar of SAIRC and Amarjit got the bronze medals of this event.

The junior boy's sabre gold went to Th Chabi of Imphal West who emerged on top of S Chingkheinganba of UPAA in the final today.

Dingkash OK of KHSC and W Satish of UPAA were the bronze medallists of this event.

SAIRC earned the only gold medal of the day through Ph Anita who shone in the junior girls' foil event final against Imphal East's G Priyaluxmi forcing the later to settle for a silver medal.

Semifinalists E Sonia of Imphal West and N Dayarani of SLLC claimed the bronze medals.

UPAA fetched another gold medal of the day when S Chingkheinganbi beat KHFA's K Chandrika in the junior girls' epee final today while KHFA's K Nomita and SLLC's M Stella finished with bronze medals.

L Abi handed KHFA the third gold medal of the day after she overcame N Nisha of Imphal West in the junior girls' sabre final.

Abesana of IW and L Ambika of UPAA who reached the semi-finals were able to win the bronze medals.

With today's result, KHFA were able to displace Imphal West's place at the top of the medal tally with 6 gold, 4 silver and 8 bronze medals in their pocket.
