Amutombi Veteran Cricket CYCLONE win; MC-B lose

Imphal, February 28 2016: CYCLONE, Thangmeiband registered a seven wicket win against Imphal West Veteran Cricket club (IWVCC) in the ongoing 1st State Level Aribam Amutombi Sharma Memorial Veteran Cricket Championship, organised by the Model Club, Chingamakha, today at Langthabal Cricket Ground.

The match began with IWVCC opting to bat first after they won the toss and set a low 68 runs target with all men down in 24-2 overs.

Jinendra (19) and Sanjay (17) were the only notable scorers of IWVCC.

Thoi Thoi of CYCLONE scalped three wickets while Abungcha, Surchandra and Tiken grabbed a wicket each.

In reply, CYCLONE chased the target by striking 68 runs in 21.5 over with six men remaining.

Rajesh's 27 runs off 44 balls was the highest scorer of CYCLONE while other main scorer Hokendro (not-out) contributed 20 runs.

IWVCC's Sanjay and Basanta took 2 wickets each.

The man of the match title went to Thoi Thoi of CYCLONE.

In another match today, CHAMP, Khagempali defeated Model Club-B by narrow 2 runs.

Model Club-B failed to chase 176 runs target set by CHAMP as they were bundled out for 174 runs in the allotted 30 overs with seven wickets down.
