Central Wushu Institute fetes National junior and sub-junior medallists

Central Wushu Institute today feted sub-junior and junior athletes of Manipur who returned with a rich haul of medals and honours from the 18th Sub-Junior National Wushu Championship and 18th Junior National Wushu Championship in a reception function held today at Dharmalaya Multipurpose Hall, Brahmapur Nahabam at 4 pm.
Other participants and officials of the championships were also feted during graced by GA Sanatomba Sharma, secretary Dharmalaya Social Welfare Centre as chief guest.
It may be mentioned that the sub-junior athletes bagged a total of 15 gold, 14 silver and 4 bronze medals at the 18th Sub-Junior National Wushu Championship held at Punjab from January 22 to 27.In the taolu events of the sub-junior championship, Nelson won 3 gold and 1 silver medals; Thounganba A bagged 1 gold and 2 silver medals; H Kajal fetched 3 gold and 1 silver medals; Jupiter E won 1 silver and 2 bronze medals; O Malemnganbi won 2 gold and 1 silver medals; H Langlentombi won 3 gold and 1 silver medals; A Vikram won 2 gold and 1 silver medals; G Devesh Sharma won 2 silver medals; Iyathoi Meitei bagged 2 silver while H Priyojit (56 kg) and I Zet Singh (32 kg) won gold and bronze medals respectively in the Sanda events.
The medallists (sanda events) of the 18th Junior National Wushu Championship held from September 15 to 20 at Punjab University, who were feted today are: Samson (gold; 48Kg), Asha (silver; 48Kg), Sanathoi (gold, 56Kg), Kh Chaoba Devi (bronze; 45Kg), Th Malemnganba (silver, 60Kg); Bobocha Singh (bronze, 56Kg) and Thoibi Singh (bronze; 45Kg).The State team bagged a total of 15 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze medals at the championship.
