Imphal, July 23 2014: Following the central government's decision to set up the first national sports university in Manipur and earmarking of an amount of Rs.100 crore for the same, the BJP Manipur Pradesh is going to organize a public meeting at Hotel Imphal here on July 27 .

In this connection, BJP Manipur president Th.Chaoba has appealed to all sports lovers, sportspersons and experts in the field to take part in the meeting to be held at the conference hall of Hotel Imphal at 2.00 pm of July 27 .

In consideration of the agenda for setting up of a sports university in Manipur as included in the election manifesto of the party during the 16th Lok Sabha elections, the Narendra Modi led government at the centre has earmarked an amount of Rs.100 crore for establishment of a national sports university in the state, said Th.Chaoba.

Chaoba further stated the BJP government has announced the establishment of the first national sports university in Manipur in recognition of the sportspersons and people of the state, and added that the necessary works for it would be taken up after August this year.

He appealed to the sports lovers and experts in the state to forward their concept papers on the vision of the slated sports university.
