ONYC Trophy : FC Lamlai, Sekta-B in semis after similar 2-0 wins

Imphal, April 23 2019: FC Lamlai and Sekta-B posted similar 2-0 wins against their respective rivals to move into the semi-finals of the ongoing ONYC Trophy Soccer Tournament organised by Oksu Ningthemchakhul Youth Club.

In the first quarter final match of the day, A Bhumeshor put FC Lamlai ahead of EUSC, Tellou in the 20th minute of the match while Kh Amarjit drove home the last goal during the stoppage time (50'+1').M Sanathoi and L Naothoi of FC Lamlai were yellow carded in the 13th and the 49th minute of the match.

Meanwhile in the last quarter final match of the tournament, Sekta-B cruised to a 2-0 win against FC Takhel to complete the semifinal line up.

Both teams were evenly poised for a major portion of the match until Henry gave Sekta-B the much anticipated lead in the 42nd minute of the match before Arjun doubled their advantage 7 minutes later.

Sekta B managed to hold their lead till the final whistle and successfully earned a 2-0 win.

Udoi of FC Takhel (31') and Nongpoknganba of Sekta B (50'+1') were yellow carded by the referee.
