2nd H Biramangol Memorial Trophy : W Max hits ton, K Boocker picks six in PCC's 219 run victory over THAU

Imphal, March 21 2025:
Wairokpam Max and K Boocker produced prolific performances to hand PCC a 219-run victory against THAU, Thangmeiband today in a 2nd MNCA U-23 Men's Haobam Biramangol Singh Memorial Trophy Group D match.
Opting to bat first at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, PCC amassed 315 runs for all wickets down in 29.2 overs thanks to Max's quickfire 118 off 54 balls (9 fours and 11 sixes) and a 46-ball 63 from Khangembam Bobby before Boocker picked 6 wickets (6/23 in 6 overs) to dismantle THAU for 96 runs in 23.3 overs .

Thokchom Lucky 36 off 30 and Boocker 23 off 15 also made significant scores for PCC in the first innings that saw THAU bowlers conceding as many as 42 extras.
Kh Romesh (3/56 in 8 overs), Soubam Santa (3/5 in 2 overs) and Washington (2/78 in 6 overs) of THAU shared 8 wickets in this innings as I Sanjeev and H Diamond claimed a wicket apiece.
In reply, THAU had a shaky start and never recovered despite Thoudam Yohenba's 34 and Kh Romesh's 21 before they slumped to 96 all out in 23.3 overs.
M Lucky (1/24) and L Rojer (1/1) also managed a wicket apiece to aid Boocker in breaking the backbone of the THAU line up.
Boocker was eventually adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Thoubal Moijing Ground, Model Club, Chingamakha sealed their second Group A match by beating AMCA, Thoubal by 7 wickets.
Model Club's Naorem Biyon (5/16 in 6 overs), Yanglem Suson (2/5 in 5 overs) and Naorem Dibak (2/8 in 4.4 overs) were in their perfect form to dismiss toss winners AMCA for 76 runs within 21.4 overs.
Biyon 24 not out off 20 and N Bisal 15 not out off 11 then sealed the victory in 9.3 overs after they were reduced to 49/3 in 6 overs.
Biyon was declared player of the match.
REYS, Nagamapal also extended their winning run to two games in the Group B league competition by handing CHAMP CC, Khagempalli a 20-run defeat at Lairenjam Public Ground.
REYS, after choosing to bat first, were bundled out for 186 runs in 33 overs despite half centuries from Yungkham Romario (69-ball 86) and Kangujam Ringku (42-ball 50) as Potshangbam Ritz (5/24 in 8 overs) and Md Babu (3/14 in 7 overs) shared a bulk of 8 wickets between them.
They however successfully defended their total by bowling out CHAMP CC for 166 runs in 36.1 overs courtesy of Sapam Bikash who finished with a haul of 6/36 in 8 overs that included a maiden.
Sapam Bikash was eventually adjudged player of the match.
Later in a Group C encounter at Khudeiband Lampak, CYCLONE overwhelmed TRAU by 111 runs for the second win.
CYCLONE won the toss and piled up 246 runs thanks to leading batting performances from Md Aqeel 46 off 27, Sougaijam Robinson, N Sidarth 37 off 27, Oinam Reolin 31 off 23 and Ningthoujam Thoiba 26 off 32 .
Reolin (3/9 in 6 overs), Md Aqeel (2/12) and S Robinson (2/47) then set up TRAU collapse at 135 despite S Somokanta's 56-ball 50 .
Reolin who produced an all round show was adjudged player of the match.
