Aefa Diro Hunde, Ayane Ayelech Nigusie win Sangai Run titles

Ethiopian athletes, Aefa Diro Hunde and Ayane Ayelech Nigusie win men's open and women's open titles of Sangai Run which is organised by OOREP Sports under the aegis of Athletic Association of Manipur.
Sangai Run, a 21 km long half marathon was flagged off from Sendra by Chief Minister N Biren today.
Around 300 athletes from across the States of India and from countries like Ethiopia, France, USA and Kazakhstan took part in the half marathon.
Aefa Diro Hunde took 01:08.35 to win Rs 1,00,00 in the men's open event while Shankar Man from Andhra Pradesh and Oinam Sanaton from Manipur finished second and third by clocking at 01:12:48 and 01:16:58 respectively.
Shankar Man walked away with Rs 75,000 while 3rd placed Sanaton bagged Rs 50,000 .
Pholendro (Meghalaya), Kresslaijune Pathaw (Meghalaya), Biijesh Nongthombam, Iqbal Huissen, Luther Luna, Y Inao and M Samananda found their names in the top ten.
In the women's open, Ayane Ayelech Nigusie clocked the run at 01:23:56 to win Rs 1,00,00 followed by Shyamali Singh from West Bengal (01:32:19) and Nongthombam Chaoba (01:38:51) finished 2nd and 3rd position to bag Rs 75,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively.
Makakmayum Minarashi, Anita, S Premila, Th Babina, Wm Rabiya, Konsam Bibicha and Chermishan were able to register names in the top ten.
In the 7.5 Km Loktak Run, Taorem Kishan (Oksu Mamang Leikai) finished first in men's open by taking 36:01 sec followed closely by Md Sadique (Thoubal Moijing) and L Somorendro (Jiribam) took 37:38.62 sec and 38:37.00 sec respectively to finish second and third.
Aliul Azim (STC BSF CCpur) and Krishan Kumar Yadav (STC BSF CCpur) finished 4th and 5th position respectively.
In men's above 45 years category, Y Brojen from Nambol clocked the course at 49:09 sec to finish first.
Md Najimuddin (Kairang Teramakhong) and H Janmenjoy Singh (Moirang) finished second and third by clocking at 51: 20 sec and 51: 3 6 .sec respectively.
Ibobi Mutum from Mongshangei and A Dara from Haobam Marak were able to finish 4th and 5th position respectively.
In the Loktak Run women's open category, Thaimei Daimei from Kangpokpi pocketed Rs 5,000 by taking 40:01 sec to finish first while Kangjam Baby took 41:10.15 sec to finish second.
Sanglakpam Chaobi from Khongman took 42:08.00 sec win the third place.
Tampak Meikam from Moirang and Shamjetsabam Babina from Thongjao finished 4th and 5th respectively.
Ibemhal Thokchom from Khongjom won above 45 years women's event by taking 55: 04.00 sec while Th Bideshini from Khngabok took 55:32.00 sec to win the second place.
Y Chandrakala from Nambol won the third place by clocking the race at 55:33.00 sec.
Th Akasini from Wangoi and M Mema from Moirang finished 4th and 5th place respectively.
