CCpur, November 16 2019: Agriculture Minister, V Hangkhanlian has today inaugurated a "Grass-roots-Artificial Football Turf" in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner of the district at Youth Hostel, Hiangtam Lamka Churachandpur.

The turf was installed with a total cost of Rs 60 lakh with funding from Mary Kom, MP (Rajya Sabha) under Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme.

Speaking on the occasion, V Hangkhanlian expressed his happiness on the developments of "Grassroots-Artificial Football Turf" which is the first of its kind in the district, by the MP.

The State Cabinet in its last meeting held on November 5 recommended to the Govt of India for establishment of Medical College in Churachandpur District which is a long aspiration of the district and this is a landmark resolution of the State Cabinet, informed the Minister.

The Minister appealed the DLOs and concerned stakeholders to encourage the youngsters in sports and extend maximum co-operation to facilitate the newly inaugurated Turf to serve its intended services.

Deputy Commissioner, Pawan Yadav said the Artificial Turf would be a very great asset for the district as this particular asset will definitely tune the youngsters' skills with real football which will go a long way in developing the future of Churachandpur District in various forums.

Thangkhosuanmung, Deputy-Chairman ADC Churachandpur; Kamkholal, EM, ADC Churachandpur and several District Level Officers also attended the programme among others.
