Hercules Cup T 20 : PTRC and YWC enter Semi-Finals

Imphal, March 16 2015: With conclusion of the group stages of Hercules Cup T-20 championship, the semi final battle line-up have been drawn.

Al-Amin will clash with Model Club and YWC will lock horns with PTRC for a place in the final on Tuesday.

In the final Group A match, RK Rex of PTRC returned with a figure of 3/14 to restrict Tsunami Challenger to a paltry score of 118 and guided PTRC Patsoi to the semi finals.

PTRC was invited by Tsunami Challenger to ball first.

Contrary to the expectations of Tsunami captain, Tsunami was devastated by the hurricane bowlers of PTRC.

From the very first over, Rex mounted pressure on the Tsunami batsmen with some well disciplined bowling.

On the other end, Rex was ably supported by Milan claiming 2 wickets.

The foundation laid by the opening bowling pair was carried forward by Dipu and Sumanta who accounted for 2 wickets each.

Tsunami batsmen wilted under the sustained pressure of PTRC.

Tsunami batsmen could not build any partnership and wickets fell at regular intervals.

The score was given a modicum of respectability by some individual performances from Amish Khan (31), Bond (23) and Akbar Khan (15) .

Building on the platform provided by their bowlers, PTRC batsmen came out blazing all guns from the very first ball and achieved the target with 4 wickets and 2.1 overs to spare.

Mixing aggression with caution, PTRC batsmen particularly Shitaljit (28), Santosh (27), Samar (18) and Rex (10) took PTRC home safely.

In another Group B match, CRAU opted to set the target after winning the toss.

CRAU batsmen responded to the call of their captain and posted a competitive score of 140 .

Kh Bimol was the fulcrum of CRAU batting and he compiled 54 from 49 balls.

In Bimol's company Amit kumar raced to 27 from 23 balls.

However, CRAU was not expecting what was in store for them.

From the very first ball of the YWC run chase, Prafulomani and Ronald swept the ground from under the feet of CRAU blowers.

CRAU bowlers were not allowed to settle into a rhythm by the opening pair who plundered every ball in all parts of the ground at will.

Prafulomani thrashed the balls for 82 from 38 balls while Ronald blasted 42 from 19 balls and guided YWC to the semi finals.
