2nd Sangai Trophy : FLAM, AYMFA post huge wins, SIRTI hold VSA

Imphal, April 15 2018: FLAM, Yaiskul, AYMFA, Yairipok today secured huge wins against their rivals while SIRTI, Chandel were held to a goalless draw by VSA, Sora in today's league matches of the ongoing 2nd Sangai Trophy Veteran Football Championship 2018 organised at Mapal Kangjeibung by United Veteran Football Association Manipur.

The group C league match staged today saw FLAM notched up a 4-2 win against Sangai.

M Biken of Sangai opened the account early in the 8th minute by Somatai Saiza was able to equalise the score two minutes later.

FLAM reversed the lead to their side through Muniram's goal in the 18th minute before K Joy Rongmei extended the lead to 3-1 first during additional time (30+1).After the break both teams competed well, one attempting to come back into the game and the other trying to extend their lead.

FLAM however raced ahead in the 55th minute and it was Ingobi who struck the finisher for his team posting a 4-1 lead.

Embarrassed with the huge lead Sangai threw more men into the opponents'-half looking for the openings.

Their efforts though late had a positive impact and they were able to grab a goal through Ng Rajesh to go down by 2-4 to FLAM.

The group B league match staged later saw AYMFA, Yairipok demolished FVFA, Uyumpok 4-0.A brace from Tomba (8', 25') and two goals from Md Iliyas helped the Yairipok secure an emphatic win.

The last league stage match of the day witnessed SIRTI, Chandel hold VSA, Sora to a goalless draw.
