Haokholet Kipgen opens 7th Friendship Tournament

The 7th Friendship Tournament, 2022 organised by the Mayangkhang Ningthoupham Youth Club (MNYC) was opened by Haokholet Kipgen, MLA Saitu AC as the chief guest.
In his keynote address, BK Theiba, president, MNYC stated that the "Friendship tournament" is a tradition that started in the year 2015.The tournament has been participated by various communities like Thadou Kuki, Meitei, Nepali and Naga.
The primary focus of the tournament is stated to nurture friendship among different cultural groups through sports so as to understand each other's culture and their needs and extend helping hands to one another to make the world a better place, he said.

Speaking as the chief guest, Haokholet Kipgen observed that such a tournament has brought players from different communities closer.
The MLA also lauded the organisers for planning such an event to bring unity among different communities.
Kipgen also mentioned that sports has become a part and parcel of life and urged the organisers to plan for a bigger platform in the days to come.
State CM has also been trying his best to bring unity among different communities and such a tournament could play a significant part towards fulfilling the noble aspiration, he stated.
Bony FC went down 0-1 to RUF in the opening match of the 15-team tourney before MYSO FC crushed ACC KPI 8-0 in the second match.
In the third match, hosts MNYC beat YACSO 1-0 .
The tourney will continue till September 23 .
