Sainik School Annual Athletic Meet concludes

Imphal, December 13 2012: The 38th Annual Athletic Meet 2012-13 culminated today, with Maj Gen Karun Kumar Sinha.

SM,GOC 57 Mtn Divand Chairman of the Local Board of Administration of the school as Chief Guest.

The Sports Meet was inaugurated by the school Principal Col (Dr) Ravi Kumar on December 10.As per tradition, the athletic flame was lit by the senior most cadet of the school with the sacred torch brought in from Tulihal Airport, Imphal where the school first started in 1971 .

The main attraction of the Closing ceremony included Mass PT, Gymnastics and March Past by the House contingents and Band display by the Assam Rifles Band.

During the prize distribution ceremony, Maj Gen Karun Kumar Sinha, SM, gave away prizes to the individual winners and victorious house.

Tagore House bagged both the trophies for Best House in Athletics 2012-13 and Overall Champion of Games and Sports for 2012-13.Best Athlete Award for junior category was jointly won by Cdt Yaiphaba (class IX, Tagore House) and Cdt Donail (class IX, Raman House).

Cdt Rikki Suibing (class XI, Shivaji House) was adjusted the Best Athlete in Senior category.
