3rd N Rajningthou Memorial Trophy : All rounder T Vikash propels PCC into semi-finals

Takhelmayum Vikash shone with both the ball and the bat to guide PCC, Mayai Koibi to a 6 wicket win over YUCC in the first quarter final match of the 3rd MNCA U-16 Boys' Naorem Rajningthou Memorial trophy staged today.
Having won the toss here at Heinoupok ground, YUCC elected to bat first but their innings came crashing down within 27.1 overs with 137 runs on the scoreboard.
Skipper Thoiba Ningthou-jam had a memorable innings with a 51-ball 61 as he hit 7 fours and 3 sixes but lost his partners in regular interval as Mairembam Lucky (2/15 in 5 overs which contained two maidens) and Chabungbam Paikhomba (2/13 in 3 overs which contained 1 maiden) produced a disciplined bowling performance.

PCC captain Ajay Mahto also unleashed his pace to rattle the middle order batters of the Kwakeithel Moirangpurel team to finish with a two wicket haul for 13 runs in 4.1 overs.
Star of the match Takhelmayum Vikash spun web around the tailenders to fetch three wickets for 28 runs in 5 overs and triggered the YUCC collapse.
Moirangthem Medhajit (17) and Ningthoujam Kenedy (16) also made their names on the scoresheet with double digit scores for the losing side.
In reply, PCC had a shocking start losing Nongmaithem Prasanta on 2-ball duck but Takhelmayum Vikash blazed off an unbeaten 83 off 63 balls on the back of 10 fours and 4 sixes to guide PCC to 139 for 4 within 22.1 overs.
Max Wairokpam also contributed 12 runs to PCC's tally in this innings which saw Ningthoujam Rahulkumar (1/26 in 6 overs) and Ningthoujam Kenedy (1/21 in 6 overs) of YUCC claiming a wicket apiece.
T Vikash was eventually named man of the match.
YWC, Langthabal will play PTRC, Patsoi in the next quarter final match tomorrow.
