Imphal, August 11 2022: Players from the North Eastern States will compete in 18 different sports at the upcoming North East Olympic Games slated to be held from October 8 with Meghalaya as host State.

The decision to set the number of sports to 18 was taken at the first co-ordination meeting of North East Olympic Organisation Committee and North East Olympic Association held yesterday at Main Secretariat in Shillong.

North East Olympic Association president read out the 18 sports to be included in the North East Olympic Games which included Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Football, Judo, Karate, Shooting, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Wushu, Cycling, Golf, Weightlifting and Wrestling.

Heirok AC MLA Th Radheshyam who is also the president of Manipur Olympic Association represented the State at the meeting.
