Golden treble for T Ibemcha at National Classic Powerlifting Championship

Imphal, April 11 2022: T Ibemhal Devi made her mark at the National Classic Powerlifting Championship by winning three gold medals at Alappuzha, Kerala on late Sunday.

T Ibemhal made a clean sweep of squat, bench press and deadlift contests to claim her golden treble in 57kg master competition.

She lifted 50kg in squat, 30kg in bench press and 50kg in deadlift.

On the other hand, So-raishem Ibetombi rounded off her campaign in the 57kg master category with three silver medals, lifting 40kg in squat, 30kg in bench press and 50kg in deadlift.

In the 59kg junior category, Pauginsang Khongsai lifted 180kg in bench press to take the silver medal.

Rk Chandrakumar bagged three bronze medals in the 66kg master event.

He lifted 70kg in squat, 45kg in bench press and 80kg in deadlift.

In the 43kg sub-junior contest, Silky Thingujam settled for bronze (45kg in bench press) .

The National Classic Power-lifting Championship 2021-22 will conclude on Wednesday, April 13 .
