Imphal, January 11 2018: MPSC-A will face X Polo in the first semi final match of the 34th Men's State Level Polo Tournament at 1 pm while Tekcham Polo Club will take on MPSC-B in the second semi final match at 2 pm at Mapal Kangjeibung.

Tekcham Polo Club today drubbed CRPF Polo team 7-1 in the third quarter final match played at 1 pm to cruise into the semi-final and in the last quarter final match of the day MPSC-B edged out Khurai Polo Club-A 4-3 to set up semi-final clash with the Tekcham side.

In the one sided match between Tekcham Polo Club (TPC) and CRPF Polo team, the former had upper hand right from the beginning of the match.

M Manihar and Y Dijen of TPC scored one goal each in the first chukker to take a 2-1 lead.

The solitary goal for CRPF Polo team was struck by O Somorjit.

TPC led the second chukker 3-1 with a single goal scored S Ranjit.

The third chukker saw three more goals for the Tekcham side one each from the sticks of Y Dijen, Kh Tombi and S Ranjit.

Y Dijen then completed the 7-1 rout of CRPF Polo team via a single goal he scored in the last chukker.

In the last quarter final match of the men's polo, MPSC-B came from 3 goals down in first two chukkers to beat Khurai Polo Club-A 4-3 and sealed the semi-final berth.

Khurai Polo Club-A led the first two chukkers with a 3-0 lead through goals scored by L Thomsom (2) and T Roshan (1) .

The third chukker saw resurgence of MPSC-B scoring two goals and reduce the lead by one goal.

M Jawan and Abung Khuman scored the two goals for the winning side in the third chukker.

M Jawan shone in the last chukker and struck two goals alone to give his team a 4-3 narrow win.
