National Games double gold medallist S Athouba, others feted

Imphal, February 10 2025: Triathlete Sarungbam Athouba who bagged two gold medals in the ongoing 38th National Games and other swimmers of Modern College Swimming Pool who participated and shone at National level events were accorded a warm felicitation today.

The felicitation programme held at the Modern College premises was presided by Professor N Romabati, Principal Modern College; Assistant Professor Y Yaima, convenor Modern College Swimming Pool Development Committee; Associate Professor W Shantikumar, member Modern College Swimming Pool Development Committee and T Thouba, chief of training staff of Modern College Swimming Pool.

The event took note of the success stories of swimmers who trains at the college's swimming pool in a short span of time and feted meritorious athletes with simple presents.

The other athletes who were feted and encouraged to achieve more in future championships include N Dhananjoy, who bagged a gold medal at the Junior National Aquatic Championship; Th Lamnganba, who brought home a bronze medal from the junior National championship; swimmers who participated at the 38th National Games- Gaitri Thoudam and S Panthoi; and Luchingbi Soubam who participated in the National competition.
