Judo Championship: Manipur wins overall championship trophy Featured

Newmai News Network/IMPHAL, August 9: Manipur with 47 points, won the overall championship of the Sub-Junior National Judo Championship, 2013 held at Imphal.
Altogether 400 judokas from 22 states participated in the competition held at the Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium.
The four-day long championship, which commenced from August 6, was concluded Friday.
For boys, Mizoram won the team championship while Delhi got the runner-up.
And, for girls, Manipur won the team champion while Mizoram bagged the runner-up.

Unnati Sharma of Jharkhand got the best judoka title from the girls' category in the national event while Niten of Harayana got the title from the boys' category.
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh was present at the closing ceremony of the event.
He distributed the trophies to the overall champion, team champion and runner-up.
The best judoka prices donated in memory of judoka Brojeshwori, the first woman Olympian from Manipur, were handed over to the winners by the by her parents.
