4th MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament : YWC complete group stage sweep with 130-run victory over BKCC

Imphal, February 09 2025: YWC, Langthabal crushed BKCC, Bamon Kampu by 130 runs to sweep the Group D competition in the 4th MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament and booked their pre-quarterfinal berth.

Put in to bat first at Lairenjam Public Ground, YWC batters took on BKKC bowlers with ease to gather 276 runs for 4 wickets in 30 overs before BKCC were restricted to 146/4 in reply.

Sayonba blazed 132 runs off 80 balls hitting as many as 22 fours and 6 sixes for YWC as Seram Tondonsana 37 and Daneil Seram 26 not out followed suit.

Thiyam Prabinson of BKKC picked two wickets (2/54) in the first innings as Thoudam Lamnganba and Nepoleon Kongkham claimed a wicket apiece.

In reply, Thiyam Pravinson 44 and Manganchaoba Irengbam 47 not out led the scoring but their efforts were not enough and eventually they ended up collecting 146 runs.

For YWC, Sayonba picked two wickets (2/29) and eventually claimed the player of the match accolade while Seram Tondonsana and Kelvinson Khoisnam chipped in with a wicket apiece.

Elsewhere at Khudeiband Lampak in Taothong, SSC, Porompat beat RNEF by 112 runs for their first Group E win in three matches.

Md Anash topscored for SSC with 89 runs off 71 balls to steer the team to 239 before Altamsh Sheik (5/11) and Sm Sofiyan (3/25) dismantled RNEF for 127 runs in the chase.

Altamsh Sheik was adjudged player of the match. In a Group C encounter staged at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground, PTCC, Patsoi Part III beat KCC, Kongba by 17 runs.

TCMDC, Thongju Part II in the meantime registered their second Group B win by beating LCC, Lamsang by 134 runs at Kongba Dhobi Lampak.
