'Junior National C'ship is a rare opportunity for state players'

The hosting of 37th Junior National Badminton Championships in Imphal is a rare opportunity for the players of the state to put their maximum efforts and thrive for a better performances both during the championships and in future.
The championships will give a golden opportunity to the state in producing world class players in future, said Gyaneshwar, Vice President of Manipur Badminton Association, Imphal.
The association will be organising the championships in Imphal from November 10 to 15.Many national and international players of India will be playing in the championships.
Talking to Hueiyen Lanpao in an exclusive interview, Gyaneshwar said that the approval to organise the championships was given to MBA by Dr Akhilesh Das Gupta, President of Badminton Association of India (BAI) considering the adaptability of Mongoloids peoples with the sports.
Moreover, the fame of Manipur being the powerhouse of sports in the country also played a major role in organising the championships in Imphal, he added.
In order to give their maximum performances in the championships, male and female players of Manipur have been undergoing a 45 days training under RK Sunanda, Coach of SAI and Romesh Luwang, Coach of YAS.
Around 600 players from different parts of the country will be competiting in the championships in 11 medal events.
Asia No 1 PVV Sindhu of Andhra Pradesh is likely to be participating in the championships even though there is no official confirmation about his participation.
