13th Jiri Cup Football tournament gets underway

Jiribam, February 03 2020: The 13th edition of the Jiri Cup Football Tournament 2020 being organised under the aegis of All Jiribam Sports Association kicked off today at Jiribam Hr Secondary School Playground with a total of 15 teams taking part in it.

The opening match of the tournament saw PFC, Phaitol rally back in the second half to seal a 3-2 comeback win against RYC, Ramgraijang.

RYC took a slender 2-1 lead till the break as Glory (34') and Kapaojan (40') scored to turn the table after Letminlun netted the opener for PFC in the 13th minute.

PFC then clawed back into the game with Letminlun equaliser in the 63rd minute as RYC failed to sustain their momentum and it was Zairom who rifled in a shot past the RYC keeper in the 74th minute to seal the game 3-2 in PFC's favour.

Kuki SC will play UJB, Hmarkholien in the next match tomorrow.
