11th DGAR Cup Sanjit lands gold in Sr Tent Pegging

Imphal, February 02 2014: H Sanjit of Chingkheihunba atop Thong-len his pony bagged the gold in the Senior Tent Pegging Sword,in the 11th DG AR State Equestrian Championship and the 5th IGAR (S) Junior Equestrian Championship underway at Mapal Kangjei-bung today.

H Sanjit had little difficulty in beating his rivals bagging 29.5 points.

It was however a different thing when it came to deciding the first and second runners up as L Olendro of Kangleipak PC atop Lucky, M Surjit Singh of MPSC atop Achouba and AK Sanatomba of Nagamapal mounting Leephome were tied at 26.5 points each.

The 3 cm tie break had to be resorted to decide the results.

Here again O Olendro and M Surjit were tied at 6 points each while Sanatomba fell behind on 4 points.

The timing had to be taken into consideration and L Olendro bagged the silver as he scored the 6 points in 8.46 minutes to M Surjit's 8.52 minutes.
