AR organises friendly Volleyball match

Imphal, April 01 2021: Mantripukhri Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a friendly volleyball match between Phaknung Youth Development Club and Assam Rifles in Sawombung Company Operating Base yesterday.

In continuation with its efforts of welfare activities to develop friendly relation with the locals, a volleyball match was conducted by Mantripukhri Battalion under the theme of "Happy Yaoshang" with an aim to highlight the importance of sports in developing personality, sportsmanship and discipline, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.

The friendly football match saw both the teams displaying a spirit of friendship and sportsmanship.

A total of 8 local persons participated in the match.

The players were elated and expressed their gratitude for organising such an event, added the statement.
