Monsoon Veterun and Pinkathon

A mini marathon "Monsoon Veterun and Pinkathon", organised by the Kakching Runners, an amateur running group was held today.
There were four categories in the marathon � two for men and two for women.
In the men's section ('Veterun'), males between 40 and 55 years began their run from Khongjom War Memorial and the above 55 years men started from Slopeland Public School.
In the women's section ('Pinkathon'), females between 30 and 45 years started from Slopeland Public School and for above 45 years it began from Sora police post.
The race finished at Naohal Lai Lampak at Kakching bazar.
The winners of the mini marathon are as follows � Male (40-55 years) � Y Brojen Singh (Nambol), N Bheigyachandra (Kakching), M Nimai (Kakching).
Male above 55 years � Md Nazimuddin (Keirang), A Surchandra (Sagolband), N Dilip Singh (Sagolband).
Female (30-45 years) � Ksh Romika (Kakching Wairi), Sh Shandyarani (Kakching Wairi), Sh Bideshini (Khangabok).
Female above 45 years � Th Akashini (Wangoi), Y Chandrakal Devi (Nambol), L Jamuna (Kakching Makhalou) Winners of first, second and third positions respectively for all categories were awarded a cash prize of Rs 6000, Rs 4000 and Rs 2000 each.
A consolation prize of Rs 500 each were given to finishers above 65 years.
Col Sanjiv Teri and Commandant Mahavir both of 28 Sector Assam Rifles, Bhubon Gems proprietor Naorem Nabachandra Singh and Naorem Bhagyabati presented the prizes to the winners.
