MCA Elite Cricket Tournament CHAMP register 3 wicket victory over PTRC

CHAMP, Khagempalli today secured a comfortable 3 wicket victory against PTRC, Patsoi in a Group B league match of the 4th MCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament 2018 which is currently underway at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangsangbam under the aegis of Manipur Cricket Association.
Yesterday, CYCLONE defeated BLUE HAWK by a huge 75 runs in a Group A league match.
Today's game saw PTRC win the toss and elect to bat first.
PTRC who came out with a high expectation had a dismal finish scoring a paltry 84 runs for 10 in 27.5 overs.
The wickets keep falling as Thomas and Sultan of CHAMP produced a superb bowling performances today.
Johnson was the best PTRC had today making 19 precious runs off 26 balls while Jemson and Johny added 16 in 35 balls and 12 in 23 balls respectively.
Thomas who was allotted 6 overs picked 3 wickets offering 14 runs.
Sultan also proved dangerous to the Pastoi as he picked another 3 runs offering just 9 runs in 6 overs.
Kabir and Kenedy who also bowled 5 overs took 1 wicket each giving away same 17 runs.
The second inning was not easy as it seemed but CHAMP managed chased the target in just 18.5 overs losing 7 wickets to earn full points.
Bonny made a promising start for CHAMP registering 30 runs in 26 balls but Bishworjit of PTRC made a superior bowling performance claiming six crucial wickets alone in 7.5 overs hampering the chase for a while.
CHAMP's wickets also fell in quick succession but went out giving an average contributions allowing their team to remain on the course of victory.
Sultan and Langlonyamba were another two batsmen who contributed 19 runs and 10 runs in the chase.
Vikash also picked another single in this inning in 6 overs and offering 13 runs.
If PTRC had registered a bit larger target they might have emerged victorious.
Sultan of CHAMP was adjudged man of the match for his contribution of 19 runs and three wicket haul.
YWC, Langthabal will face THAU, Thangmeiband tomorrow in a Group A league match.
