ZFC to clash with DM RAO in Winners' Cup final

Imphal, October 30 2012: After winning their respective matches today, ZFC, Churachandpur and DM RAO, Awang Sekmai have entered into the finals of the ongoing 17th M Chittamani Singh Memorial Winners' Cup, 2012 organised by Hunphun Shaiza Youth Society under the aegis of All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) in home and away basis.

In today's match played at the Home Ground of ZFC, CCpur at CCpur Public Ground, ZFC, Ccpur defeated YUFC, Yarkhok, Ukhrul 2-1 after a tough fight.

The match began with high notes on both sides.

As the match advanced, Jamthianlal of ZFC drew the first blood of the match in the 34th minute of the match.

Short of one goal, YUFC players played the match with more coordination.

As a result, they managed to equalised the score in the 74th minute of the match when Reisangmi had a direct hit into the net from the right flank.

However their joy was shortlived when Helum Haokip of ZFC scored one goal against them in the 89th minute.

With ZFC leading by one goal, YUFC players desparately tried to square the situation even though there was not much time and the final whistle was blown before they could scored back the equaliser.

Meanwhile, in another match, DM RAO, Awang Sekmai, in their home ground at SKYC Ground, Awang Sekmai, beat YOSC, Khurai 3-1 to claim their place in the finals.

L Bharat of YOSC scored the first goal of the match in the very first minute of the match.

On the other hand, H Anilkumar, A Lenin and Y Hemba scored the three goals of DM RAO in the 53rd, 72nd and 81st minutes respectively.

Now, ZFC, CCpur will play the final matches against DM RAO, Awang Sekmai.

The first final match will be played at ZFC's home Ground at CCpur Public Ground on November 1 while the second final will be played at DM RAO's home ground, SKYC Ground, Awang Sekmai on November 3 .
