Chandam Inunganbi Memorial Football : PYC trounce KMYC, Chikim FC edge past PSG

Jiribam, July 30 2018: PYC, Phaitol showed class to thrash KMYC, Kamaranga 6-0 while Chikim FC edged past PSG, Kalinagar by 3-2 goals in today's Group B league matches of the ongoing 15th Chandam Inunganbi Memorial Mini Boys (U-13) Football Tournament-2018 organised by All Jiribam Sports Association at Jiribam Government Higher Secondary School playground.

The first Group B league match of the day saw, Seithang and William scored two goals each to give PYC a huge 6-0 victory against KMYC, Kamaranga.

Seithang opened PYC's account in the 12th minute before William got his feet on the ball and banged in another shot in the 20th minute to make it 2-0 past KMYC.

Seithang then underlined his team superiority with his second goal in the 33rd minute to enter into the break with a comfortable 3-0 lead.

The major portion of the second half saw, Kamranga side concentrate in cancelling out all threats from the marauding PYC players but the latter period saw the latter team easily breached the defence set up and it was Mangchungnung who made his way for PYC's fourth goal while Lalroiba scored another a couple of minutes latter to make it 5-0.William then completed his brace in the 64th minute and helped the Phaitol side wrap up the game 6-0.The second match saw Chikim FC come back from one goal down to snatch a 3-2 win over PSG, Kalinagar.

The match got off to a competitive beginning with both teams evenly poised but PSG was first to open up under a fortuitous circumstance in the 4th minute of the play through Emanuel.

Chikim FC, who were, on the other hand working hard to stretch the defence line of the Kalinagar side failed to get the breakthrough until Paotinsem made a smooth run and slotted home the equaliser in the 23rd minute.

Although both sides made frenetic efforts, they were unable to find the difference as defence line up on both ends played exceptionally well to settle the score at 1-1 till first half.

The second half, however went to Chikim FC with Thangouchung hitting the net the very first minute (3 6') before Lalboy added another goal in the 40th minute to make it 3-1.PSG also tried hard to reduce the gap and it was in the 48th minute that Lalneu grabbed a goal to make it 2-3.They toiled hard to find the leveller but their efforts went into vain as Chikim FC's backline managed to stonewall all incisive runs made on the occasion.

Eventually Chikim FC sealed the game 3-2.Oriental Club will be meeting Kuki FC tomorrow in a Group C league match at 2.45 pm while RYC, Ramzaijang will take on Lalpani SC in another Group C league match at pm .
