MEIRAA, ARC win in Dr Kanti Mukherjee Memorial Hockey

Imphal, January 29 2013: SSA, Charangpat and ARC, Shillong beat their respective opponents and won today's match of the ongoing 14th Dr Kanti Mukherjee Memorial Invitation Hockey Tournament 2012-13 organised by Hockey Manipur at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium, Imphal.

In a keenly contested match, MEIRAA, Bashikhong beat SSA.

Charangpat 4-3 and won the first match.

N Jenjen and Th Anthony of MEIRAA scored one goal each in the 23rd and 63rd minutes of the match respectively while Th Rakesh scored two goals in the 66th and 69th minutes of the match.

On the other hand N Mani and M Dhananjoy scored the goals of SSA.

Mani scored one goal in the 12th minute and Dhananjoy scored two in the 27th and 55th minutes of the match.

S Meiraba of SSA was issued a red card for his unsporting behaviour during the match.

Later, in the second match, ARC, Shillong humiliated a goalless Hockey Union, Lairikyengbam Leikai with 12 goals.

Kh Jiban of ARC scored two goals in the 5th and 58th minutes.

RK Anandajit scored three goals in the 17th, 47th and 57th minutes of the match.

M Sashikumar, Th Hemjit, Rebasish Mark, Pranjanrabha, Lbtlunga, A Jatin and M Premchand also scored one goal each in the 10th, 13th, 25th, 28th, 32nd, 33rd and 50th minutes of the match respectively.
