3rd U-15 Rapid Chess Tourney begins

Imphal, December 28 2019: Arosemit Sharma of Shamasakhi High School along with Laishram Nelson of St Patrick's English School and Nungshithoi Ngairangbam of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Akampat are leading the table with similar 3 points at the end of three rounds in the 3rd U-15 Rapid Chess Tournament which began today at Salai Chess Academy's office at Uripok Huidrom Leikai.

The tournament hosted by Salai Chess Academy is featuring a total of 32 players including 10 girls from different schools, said a press release of Salai Chess Academy.

The tournament will see the players compete in the Swiss League System consisting of 6 rounds with a time control of 25 min+10 sec increment per move for each side, the release said.

Top seed Guruaribam Arosemit Sharma defeated Jalesh Thoudam in the third round to gather 3 points total while Laishram Nelson and Nungshithoi Ngairangbam respectively got the better of Kshetrimayum Aimson and Maibam Yohenba Khuman.

Arosemit Sharma will meet Laishram Nelson in the fourth round while Nungshithoi will play Khuman Einstein Maibam who have earned 2.5 points so far.
