MNCA Plate Tourney : AKSDO beat SHADOW by 14 runs to remain in hunt for semi-final berth

AKSDO-Khangabok defeated SHADOW Thangmeiband in a crucial Group A match by 14 runs to raise their semi-final hopes in the ongoing 7th MNCA Plate Tournament.
After winning the toss here at Model Higher Secondary School and Oriental College ground, AKSDO chose to bat first.
They were however bowled out for 91 runs in 28 overs as Reolin Oinam starred with a fifer (5/18) by removing top order batters and Sagatpa Lanchenba swept the middle and low order batters on the way to his four wicket haul (4/18) .

Laishram Samson scored the highest 27 for AKSDO in their innings.
AKSDO however managed to choke SHADOW batters and bowled them out for a meagre total of 77 runs despite Reolin Oinam's 27 and Sagatpam Lanchenba's 11 to seal the 14 run victory.
Sanayai Ningthoujam was at his destructive best removing four key wickets after Laishram Nirash (2/28) undone two top order batters while Saikhom Kaiku swept three wickets for 5 runs in his spell of 2.5 overs.
Sanayai Ninthoujam who picked up four wickets and added 5 runs was adjudged man of the match.
It was the fifth win for AKSDO in as many as 7 matches and they are currently second in Group A table.
Meanwhile in a dead rubber Group B match at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, SDC crushed MPA by 228 runs to end their campaign with three wins.
It was on the other hand 7th straight loss for MPA.
SDC racked up 338 runs for 8 after electing to bat first courtesy blistering half century knocks from Kongjengbam Monish (79 off 40 balls), Donny (64 off 58 balls), Thangboy Doungel (47 off 47 balls) and Khundrakpam Lemba (38 off 33 balls) .
SDC then restricted MPA out for 110 for 7 in 40 overs riding on bowling exceptional performances Donny (3/16) and Kongjengbam Monish (4/24) and economical bowling from other bowlers.
Lucky Elangbam scored a 112-ball 51 in a lost cause.
Earlier in SDC's innings, Wahengbam Nareshkumar enjoyed a three wicket haul (3/64) and Chongtham Gopeshwor picked two.
Konjengbam Monish who scored a half century and picked up four wickets was adjudged man of the match.
YAC, Yaiskul will play RRCC, Churachandpur in a Group A match tomorrow at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium while OSCAR, Paona Bazar will play KCDO, Kongpal in a Group B at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College Ground.
