IW Men's Village Open Football : NSU, Sangai FC win as BFC share spoils with Lanchenbi FC

Imphal, October 26 2019: NSU, Awang Potsangbam and Sangai FC, Khumbong emerge victorious while BFC, Awangkhunou and Lanchenbi FC, Taobungkhok shared spoils in today's league matches of the ongoing Imphal West District 7-A Side Village Men's Open Football Tournament-2019 organised by Imphal West Students' Club at its ground at Khumbong.

NSU annihilated IWSC-B Khumbong 13-1 in a group A league fixture staged today as Rakesh (9', 10', 13', 16', 17', 20') and Tomba netted a record 10 goals (12', 27', 28, 29') while Johnson (6'), Arjun (38') and Babu (40') contributed one each, setting a gigantic benchmark for the Khumbong side.

The only and unhelpful goal for IWSC-B was scored by Kapin in the 18th minute.

The second match which was a group D encounter, too saw a one sided match as Sangai FC Khumbong sealed a comfortable 5-2 win over YDSU, Khabi.

P Linthoi netted two goals while O Maniton, O Jeevan and O Dhanabir scored one each for Sangai FC.

A Yaiphaba and H Chaoba struck one goal each for the losing side.

Meanwhile BFC Awangkhunou and Lanchenbi FC Taobungkhok played out a 2-2 draw in group B league match.

Though Rajkumar struck the first goal of the match in the 14th minute and gave Lanchenbi FC a 1-0 lead, BFC's Kh Herojit equalised it in the following minute before his team-mate N Surat gave the Taobungkhok team a 2-1 lead in the 19th minute.

After some hustle and tussle, Ngouba netted the equaliser for Lanchenbi FC in the 28th minute.

As neither side failed to break the deadlock before the final whistle, the two teams ended up sharing a point each.
