Veteran hockey tournament YAC trounce Meiraa 10-2

Imphal, April 26 2015 : The 3rd Khumukcham Ibungoyaima Singh Memorial men's veteran and 2nd Tayenjam Bhubon Singh memorial women's veteran hockey tournament organised by the Manipur Veteran Hockey Association (MVHA) began today at Khuman Lampak hockey stadium.

The inaugural function of the tournament was graced by HOD of Obstetric and Gynaecology RIMS Dr Ch Manglem Singh, MVHA president S Lokeshwar Singh, Manipur Indoor Hockey Association president L Mobi Singh, Hockey Manipur vice-president H Jamuna Devi and Advocate N Shivadas Singh as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.

In today's opening match, YAC trounced Meiraa, Bashikhong by a margin of 10 goals to two.

The winning goals for YAC were scored by Ng Mahavir (4th, 11th), P Bishorjit (19th, 57th), Y Jayanta (29th, 49th), N Sunil (8th), Kh Umananda (12th), L Chandra (27th) and N Jiteshwor (37th) .

On the other hand, B Sanatomba and B Inaocha found the targets for Meiraa in the 46th and 53rd minute respectively.
