Bpr Dist Level Subroto Cup : Thinungei Phubala HS emerge U-17 boys' champions, Pinjabati claim U-14 title

Imphal, July 25 2018: Thinungei Phubala High School emerged champions of the U-17 boys' competition of the 59th Bishnupur District Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament 2018 organised by District Youth Affairs and Sports Officer, Bishnupur District at Mini Stadium, Bishnupur today while the U-14 boys' title went to Pinjabati High School who thrashed Rural Education Academy by 4-0 in the final.

Thinungei Phubala High School defeated Kumbi CH/S by 2-1 goal to win the title and a place in the State Level Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament 2018.S Thanglenreng drew first blood in the 21 st minute with a stinging shot but the Kumbi side managed to level the score at 1-1 till first half through Ngampu's additional time strike (30+2) .

Thinungei Phubala HS (TP HS) shifted gears and toiled hard in search of the winners in the latter part of the game against Kumbi H/S who were also looking for the same.

H Michael, under fortuitous circumstances, found the breakthrough and put his team past the Kumbi side with a 2-1 lead which remained undisturbed till the final whistle.

U-14 Boys Competition Pinjabati HS rode on Bothe, Dingku, Engson and Sanamatum to thrash Rural Education Academy (REC) by 4-0 goals and clinched the U-14 boys title.

They will be representing Bishnupur District in the U-14 boys competition of the State Level event.

Bothe hit the opener in the 18th minute to make it 1-0 till first half while Dingku doubled the lead in the 25th minute before Engson and Sanamatum pumped in one goal each in the 45th and the 52nd minute and completed the 4-0 rout of Rurel Education Academy.

Earlier in the semi-final, Pinjabati HS edged out TP HS by 3-1 goals.

Bishal (2nd), Engson (43') and Ajman Ali (50') scored for the Pinjabati HS while Dhanabir grabbed a consolation goal for TP HS in the 55th minute.

REC entered in the final with a thumping 3-0 win over Ithai Junior HS .
