Imphal, March 25 2015: Imphal West comfortably defeated Model Club (B) by 55 runs in the group match of Aribam Amutombi Sharma Memorial Veteran Cricket Championship on Wednesday.

Opting to bat after winning the toss, Imphal West set an average score of 158 in the 35 overs by losing 9 wickets.

Basanta's 29 from 59 balls and Jotish's run a ball 21 runs were the backbone of Imphal West score.

Dhamendra's cameo of 14 runs from 10 balls helped the score to cross moral boasting figure of 150.Imphal West other batsmen could not reached double figure.

Bobicha of Model Club (B) did most of the damage for Imphal West by taking 3 wickets.

Sanjit also returned with 2 wickets.

Model Club (B) batsmen had to scored an average of 4.51 runs per over to overhauled the target.

On the contrary the batsmen of Model created a demon out of the average score and show urgency in returning to the pavilion rather than stayed in the crease.

Three batsmen, Bikramjit (19); Gulshan (14) and Thoioba (16) could reach double figure during the chase.

By the 21.5 over, all Model Club (B) batsmen returned to the pavilion and handed over the match to Imphal West by 55 runs.

Deepak accounted 3 and W Sanjoy claimed 2 of the total 10 wickets of Model Club (B) .
