Sr Women's One Day Trophy : Manipur crash to 118 run defeat against Tripura

Imphal, January 25 2023: Manipur went down by 118 runs to Tripura for the fourth successive loss in the Senior Women's One Day Trophy at Darshanam Sports and Education Academy, Vadodara in Gujarat.

Sent into bat first, Tripura rode on half centuries from PV Sudharani (60 off 75 balls) and RR Saha (64 off 71 balls) to pile up 275 runs for 8 wickets and held Manipur to 157 runs for 6 wickets for the win.

Indra Rani Jamatia (33), Sh Chakraborty (40) and NN Debnath (30) also made significant contributions to Tripura's tally as Manipur's Chingkhei M (3/53) and Milan Y (3/43) returned with three wicket hauls and Ganga W and Monica picked a wicket each.

The chase saw Kalpana (25 off 55 balls) and Ganga W (33 off 50 balls) making their best efforts before Loidangton Th scored a painstakingly slow 127-ball 66 in a lost cause.

Ambesha Das, NN Debnath, Mk Rabidas and Sh Chakraborty of Tripura claimed a wicket each in this innings.

Manipur will play Madhya Pradesh in the next match on January 27 .
