13th Tellou Trophy : Bolero, Lucky Star cruise to quarterfinals

Bolero, Sekta sailed through the quarter final via a penalty shoot-out after a 3-3 draw against SADA, Sanjenbam today in the pre-quarter final match while Lucky Star, Achanbigei outplayed PYDA, Pangei 3-1 to book a quarter final berth of the 13th Tellou Joint Cooperative Farming Society Ltd Trophy 2018 being organised by Eastern United Sporting Club at Tellou Kangjeibung.
The first pre-quarter final match of the day saw Bolero, Sekta hold by SADA, Sanjenbam to a 3-3 draw at the end of the regulation time.
Bolero, Sekta surged ahead early with a 1-0 lead when Thoi found the net in the 8th minute.
Bigyanda extended the lead to 2-0 after scoring another goal in the 14th minute.
However, SADA players swung into action and replied back with two quick goals through Bobothoi and Bikramjit in the 18th and 19th minute to equalise the score at 2-2 .
Bobothoi continued his impressive form and netted another goal in the 27th minute to hand his team a 3-2 lead at the end of the first half.But the lead enjoyed by SADA did not last long as Thoi equalise the score to make it 3-3 with his superb goal in the 49th minute.
Both the team tried to outwit each in search of a goal but the game was stretched to the tie breaker at the end of the regulation time.
In the penalty shoot-out, Bolera managed to hold their nerves and won the match by 8-6 goals against SADA.
Biseshwor, Athoiba, Pahari, Bhim and Thoi were the successful goal scorer of Bolera while Sanajaoba, Deban and Bobothoi managed to convert their shot into goal but Bikramjit fail to rise on the occasion for the SADA.
In the second pre-quarter final match of the day, Lucky Star, Achanbigei got better off PYDA, Pangei by 3-1 goals.
Lucky Star dominated the match from the beginning of the match and got the first breakthrough in the 11th minute through Shanker.
He further scored another goal to handacomfortable2-0 lead in the (25+2 )th minute.
However, PYDA fought back with a goal in the 50th minute to reduce the scoreline to 1-2 but Rohen sealed the match in favour of his team when he scored a goal in the injury time (50+3)' and pushed his team to quarterfinal with a 3-1 win.
Yumnam Khunou FC will take on SPYC, Sejang in the 1st quarterfinal match tomorrow while YDO, Khundrakpam will face with YDCL, Pungdombam in the 2nd quarterfinal match.
