Imphal, March 24 2018: Churachandpur today edged past Chandel 2-1 in a hard fought match to emerge football champions of the 4th Hill District Sports Meet, 2018 organised at Public ground, Senapati under the supervision of Hill District Sports Association.

Paokhongam of Churachandpur found the breakthrough in the 34th minute of the match and the lead was further extended to 2-0 when Lalsiam made a fine run deep into the Chandel's territory and cracked a powerful shot past the custodian in the 41st minute.

Chandel though made some few offences in the first half, their attempts went too wide or lacked intensity.

After the restart, Churachandpur concentrated more in guarding their goal while Chandel were desperately trying all way possible to get a scoring chance.

It was in the late 86th minute that Daniel Mate grab a consolation goal giving Churachandpur the 2-1 victory.

Women's Volleyball .

Senapati won the title of women's volleyball competition held as a part of the 4th Hill District Sports Meet beating Chandel in straight sets.

Senapati dominated the whole game to post a convincing 25-11, 25-17, 25-18 win over Chandel.
