IW Dist Village Men's Open Football : NSU, LKSU and RYC emerge victorious

Imphal, October 23 2019: NSU, Awang Potsangbam; LKSU, Loitang Khunou and RYC, Moidangpok triumphed in their respective league matches today in the ongoing Imphal West District 7-A Side Village Men's Open Football Tournament-2019 organised by Imphal West Students' Club at its ground at Khumbong.

NSU defeated Kangmong FC by 3-1 goals in group A fixture played in the morning.

The match witnessed early dominance by Awang Potsangbam side with their first goal coming in from L Rakesh in the 11th minute and the second from Ch Johnson (22').After trailing 2-0, Kamjong FC netted their first goal through Brajamani in the 24th minute and made their way back into the game, however their ambition lasted only for a brief period as L Rakesh hit his second in the 36th minute to make it 3-1 in favour of NSU which slipped themselves latter on to defend the lead till the final whistle and took home the win.

In a Group C league match, LKSU thrashed PTCC, Patsoi 4-0.Ng Boinao contributed 2 goals (6', 7') while Ng Sana (21') and N Ravi (11') netted one each to ensure the huge win for LKSU.

In today's group D league match, RYC Modangpok drubbed YDSU, Khabi 7-1 as N Rohen did the star turn scoring a treble.

Though YDSU found the first goal of the match in the 5th minute via Bollen, it didn't dampened the spirit of RYC players and it was reflected clearly in the latter portion of the game as the team poured in goal after goal from the 21st minute onward to make it 7-1.It was S Robert who drew level in the 21st minute for RYC before netting his second in the 39th minute while N Rohen scored the second in the 27th minute before pumping two more goals in the 34th and the 37th minute.

K Jin Singh (35') and L Roshan (42') also contributed a goal each to hand RYC, Moidangpok an emphatic 7-1 comeback win.
