State top in NE Sport Climbing

Imphal, October 23 2012:
With a grand tally of 30 medals, including 10 gold and nine silvers, host Manipur wrested the title of the three-day 14th North East Zone Sport Climbing Competition, which concluded today at the Kangla Rock Wall of Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association.
Tripura secured the runners-up title with five gold, four silver and two bronze medals while Nagaland finished third with a silver and one bronze.
Assam, the other State in the competition, held under the aegis of Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) failed to open its medal account.
The closing ceremony was held with NYK, Ministry of Youth Affairs and sports (Govt of India) vice chairperson Km L Tilotama and MMTA president Dr L Surjit Singh as the chief guest and president respectively while managing director of Babina Health Care & Hospitality Industries Pvt Ltd Dr Thangjam Dhabali and IMF observer Group Captain Surjit Singh Puri graced the occasion as the guests of honour.
