SHDVFA, FLAM reach Sangai Trophy semis

Imphal, April 23 2019: SHDVFA, Sadar Hills and FLAM, Babupara registered contrasting wins in the quarter final matches to secure their semi-final berths in the 3rd Sangai Trophy Veteran Football Championship 2019 at Mapal Kangjeibung today.

SHDVFA had a clinical 4-0 win against DDVFA, Nagaland in the first semi-final match as RN Benjamin put his team ahead of the visitors in the 29th minute before Jangminlen Guite hit a hattrick in the second half.

Jangminlen found his first in the 34th minute to doubled their team's advantage before pumping two more goals (42nd, 50th) to wrap up the game 4-0 .

Meanwhile in the second quarter final of the tournament, FLAM got the better of ATVFA, Thangmeiband by a slender 1-0 margin thanks to A Jayanta's 24th minute strike.

AYVFA will meet KMVFA in the next quarter final match tomorrow at 1.30 pm while VSAI will lock horns with UVFA in the last quarter final match later at 3 pm .
