VSAI, ISAV blank opponents in Challenge Cup Veteran Football

Imphal, April 23 2013: VSAI, Thangmeiband and ISAV, Kongpal blanked their respective opponents in today's matches of the ongoing 15th Challenge Cup Veteran Footbal Tournament organised by Manipur Veteran Football Association at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.

The first match which was played between VSAI, Thangmeiband and LKVFA, Langthabal was won by VSAI, Thangmeiband by a solitary goal.

The match began in positive notes among the teams.

Challenge Cup Veteran Football

The first half of the match concluded in a goalless draw.

As the players of both teams were looking for chances to sneak behind the defence of their opponents in the second half, VSAI got their chance in the 58th minute of the match.

Ak Mahesh of VSAI did not lose the chance and successfully converted it into a goal which later turned out to be their winning goal.

On the other hand, LKVFA players failed to scored a single goal against their opponent and lost the match.

In the second match, ISAV, Kongpal blanked IVFA, Canchipur 4-0 and won the match.

The four goals of ISAV were scored by Bochou, Etocha, Shyam and Nongyailemba in the 7th, 23rd, 36th and 45th minutes of the match.
