BCCI allocates Rs 50 crore for NE India

With BCCI setting aside Rs 50 crore for the development of cricket infrastructure in North East India, Manipur will certainly make significant progress in the next two/three years, said president of Manipur Cricket Association, RK Imo who is also an MLA representing Sagolband AC .
Speaking to reporters at the Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium at Luwangshangbam today, RK Imo said that the decision of the BCCI to extend such a huge monetary assistance to the region is due to the efforts of all concerned and mentioned the assistance of the North Eastern Council in collaboration with the State Government under the NLCPR .
With assistance from the BCCI, an indoor cricket stadium will also become a reality soon in Manipur, he added .
The initiative has been taken up under the focus given to the North East region by the president of New Area Development of the BCCI Abhisek Dalmia, he added .
Giving a boost to the prospect of the State in cricket is the fact that three players from Manipur took part in the Vinoo Mankad U-19 One Day Cricket tournament held at Dhanbad from October 14 to 18, said RK Imo .
The three players from Manipur were Johnson, Rex and Alfred Hmar .
The three players will also take part in the Cooch Behar U-19 tournament from November 5 .
Manipur also emerged the winner of the U-23 Triangular series held at Nagaland from October 5 to 8, informed the MLA.
